I love pizza but sometimes a pizza roll is really all you need. These are so easy to make and would make a perfect appetizer or snack! The fun thing about pizza rolls is you can make them anyway you want. You can add in any toppings or sauce but for these I just kept it simple.
To keep things simple I used store bought sauce and pizza dough but you can of course make homemade if you like. It is all up to your personal preferences and what you have access to. For the vegan mozzarella I like the brand Follow Your Heart or Daiya.
CLASSIC PIZZA ROLLS
Ingredients:
8 oz pizza dough
1/3 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup vegan mozzarella
Flour for surface
Mehod:
Preheat oven to 450F or 200C. Roll dough out into a big rectangle. You can make it as thick or thin as you like. Then spread pizza sauce on. Don’t add too much because otherwise when you roll it the sauce will get pushed out and make a big mess. Next sprinkle on vegan mozzarella. You can add as much or as little as you like I just gave 1/2 cup for a rough estimate. Then roll up the rectangle into a long log. Cut the log into slices making it as thin or thick as you like. The thinner you make it the more pizza rolls you will have. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes. The smaller the rolls are the less time they will need to bake.
PESTO PIZZA ROLLS
Ingredients:
8 oz pizza dough
1/3 cup vegan pesto
1/2 cup vegan mozzarella
Flour for surface
Prepare the same way as above.
Will make 6 big pizza rolls or 8 smaller pizza rolls
