Cut the tofu into 4 rectangles. Turn the tofu so the short edge of the rectangle is facing up at you. Then, make 4 equal slices so you end up with 4 squares.
Bring a medium pot of water to a boil with salt over high heat. Lower the heat to medium. Gently boil the tofu in salted water for 7 to 10 minutes. You will let it gently boil this allows the tofu to absorb the marinade better, add taste, and enhances the texture.
Let the tofu cool for 5 minutes. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.
In a large bowl add the marinade ingredients. Mix together. Then add the tofu. Marinate for at least 1 hours or up to 24 hours. if marinating for more than 1 hour place in the fridge.
When ready to bread combine the breading ingredients on a large flat plate or large flat bottomed bowl. Mix together with a fork.
Take a piece of tofu out of the marinade and coat it in the flour generously. Making sure to get all the sides.
Spray the pieces of tofu generously.
Place in the air fryer and leave enough space, do not let them touch. Air fry at 400°F (206°C) for 12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. If after, air frying the tenders look dry you can just spray with a bit more oil. Enjoy how you like.
