Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 vegan hot dogs cut in quarters
  • Spray oil optional
  • Minced onion optional

Instructions

  • Thaw one sheet of the puff pastry ahead of time.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C).
  • Carefully, mark out 16 squares in the rectangle with a knife. Then, use the knife the cut the rectangles out. I made 16 squares to get 16 vegan pigs in a blanket.
  • Cut 4 of the vegan hot dogs into 4 pieces, so you end up with 16 pieces.
  • Place a square of the puff pastry in a diamond shape. Then, put one of the pieces of the vegan hotdog on the bottom corner of the puff pastry.
  • Roll the puff pastry up.
  • Make sure the tail of the puff pastry is tucked and wrapped up. If you find its not sticking, you can add a little drop of water to the puff pastry and it will stick to itself.
  • Place the unbaked vegan pigs in a blanket on a lined baking sheet. Spray with oil. Then, top with some minced onion.
  • Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Some of the puff pastry may expand and open up. It is okay, all tastes the same!
