this dark magic halloween mocktail is great for any parties or get togethers you have coming up. perfect for anyone to enjoy!

the inspiration
A few years ago I had a lot of fun and made a Witches Brew Halloween Cocktail. That drink recipe has some of my favorite pictures and video I have ever done! So, I knew it was time to do another Halloween drink.
For this drink I wanted to create something berries. I knew they would create a deep rich color that would be gorgeous for this drink. This Dark Magic Easy Halloween Mocktail is also great for parties with kids because there is no alcohol.

the ingredients
- Blueberries: the blueberries are great for adding in flavor of course and also helping to give a nice dark color for our drink.
- Blackberries: the blackberries are very similar in their reason to being used in the recipe as the blueberries. Their darker color helps to intensify the drink even further.
- Grape Juice: the grape juice adds flavor and body to the drink.
- Seltzer: the seltzer helps to add a nice fizz to the drink. You can use a black cherry flavor or plain.
- Purple Sanding Sugar: the sanding sugar rim is optional but I do think it adds a nice touch. It also adds a little sweetness to the drink as you sip it. The Whole Foods 365 brand has vegan sprinkles and sanding sugars.

making the dark magic halloween mocktail
Making this Halloween mocktail is so easy and I have ways you can make it. I will first tell you the way I made it and then I will tell you an additional way to make it.
The first way: in a cocktail shaker muddle the blackberries and blueberries with a muddle bar spoon until they are very broken down. Then, pour in the grape juice, add in a few ice cubes, and put the shaker lid on. Shake until it is all mixed together. You can then strain it using a small sieve as the berry bits may be too large for the holes of the skaer. Finally, add it to a glass with ice and top with as much seltzer as you like.
The second way: you can add the berries and grape juice into a blender and blend until smooth. Then, strain again with a sieve and repeat the process as above.
decorating the dark magic halloween mocktail
The most fun part about this mocktail is decorating it, so it will look beautiful at your Halloween party or gathering. I like to first start off by picking a fun glass or cup. Of course if you are serving this with kids around you can always use a plastic cup so you do not risk any issues of glass breaking.
There are so many Halloween glasses and cups online or in stores to choose from. The ones I am using are a few years old from I believe Pottery Barn.
The next step is adding the sanding sugar rim. It looks so beautiful and would be so pretty with a bunch of colors too! You can use orange, black, green, purple, red, or any color you like.
Finally, the garnish! I like to use a few blackberries on top so people know there are blackberries in the drink. My other favorite thing to do is use rosemary on top. It is fun to light on fire and make a fun smoke design in the air.

more decorating ideas
Now, of course there are tons of ways to decorate fun non-alcoholic Halloween drinks. So here are some more ideas:
- Add in vegan gummy worms! The kids will love this so much. I have had these ones from Shameless Snacks.
- Add in cinnamon sticks! It will slowly add in a bit of heat and cinnamon flavor. It also just looks so beautiful.
- Other creepy decorations! You can have a lot of fun with plastic spiders, plastic vampire teeth, whatever you like.
making it a cocktail
Now of course you can very easily turn this into a cocktail. I would either add in some silver tequila, because that is what I like, or you can use vodka.
If you want to make it more of a sangria you can add in some red wine or even white wine. It is a really fun drink to play around with so have fun with it.
why you’ll love this recipe
I think you will love how easy it is to make this drink. It is great to have a non-alcoholic drink option at your parties whether it is for kids or people who don’t drink. So, it is such a fun one to make and decorate your party with.
There is no need to make any simple syrup or anything like that which keeps it easy. I also love the hint of bubbles from the seltzer and of course getting in some sneaky fruit!
