Boil the edamame for 30 minutes. Discard the water.
Add the edamame into a blender with 5 cups of water. Some of the skin from the edamame may come off, if you find it floating in the water use a slotted spoon to scoop it out and remove it. Blend on high for 1 minute.
Start to strain the edamame milk by pouring it through a fine mesh sieve twice. Then for the third round use a piece of cheesecloth.
Pour into a container or jar and keep it in the fridge.
To make vanilla edamame milk mix all the ingredients together, pour into a container or jar, and store in the fridge.

I used frozen edamame, if you can only find already cooked edamame that will work too.
Makes approx 5 cups (1185ml) of edamame milk.
