Combining two of my favorite things Caesar salad and pizza to make this delicious combo! Inspired by a pizza from my hometown pizza place, this one tastes just like I remember it. Tofu is grilled in seasonings to make a great replacement for grilled chicken!
There are a few iconic foods from growing up I remember eating: penne alla vodka wrap, baked ziti slice, a crispy chicken ranch wrap and the Caesar salad slice. Of course, this isn’t a traditional pizza but it sure is fun to eat! To this day when my friends still get it, I feel like i can almost taste it. So, I figured it was about time I make my own Chick’n Caesar Salad Pizza. Let me tell you it definitely lived up to the hype I remember it having! This is definitely a slice of pizza you will most likely need a fork for because things fall off but who cares get a little messy and live your life.
Caesar Dressing
My Caesar salad dressing recipe is nut free, soy free, and no blender required! I use tahini in it. I find it gives the perfect creaminess and is much more convenient for when I decide last minute I want a Caesar salad. Don’t get me wrong, I do love making it with cashews as well but then I gotta boil them and it can be a process. This is so much easier just pop all the ingredients in a jar and give it a shake! Plus, it makes it very friendly for anyone with allergies. I like to use nutritional yeast in my dressing but you can use a vegan parmesan if you prefer. I like the ones from Go Veggie or Violife for this since they’re grated/can be grated.
Pizza Crust
I decided to use a store-bought crust for this recipe just to keep it easy. I actually used the Banza chickpea crust, I really like them but they are a bit on the smaller side, about 9 inches. So I did have some leftover salad but if you use a bigger crust anywhere from 12+ inches you will most likely use all of the salad. Either way, the leftover salad is great for picking on and you can even throw in a wrap the next day! You can also you a homemade pizza dough, I have a great recipe on the blog.
Tofu
I used tofu to make a grilled chicken replacement and honestly I was so impressed. I just love tofu so much. If you are soy free you can of course use seitan or even roasted chickpeas. For this recipe I wanted to use super firm tofu, which is the best one in my opinion.

Vegan Chick’n Caeser Salad Pizza
Ingredients
Tofu
- ½ block 8 ounces [227g] super firm tofu
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- Spray oil
Caesar Salad
- 1 head romaine lettuce chopped (about 10 ounces [280g])
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon salt or to taste
- ¾ cup vegan mozzarella shreds or homemade
- *if using shreds 84g if using homemade 200g
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder 1 9-12 inch pizza crust
- 3 tablespoons croutons
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). if using store-bought according to package directions, if using homemade according to recipe directions.
- Cut the tofu block crosswise into ¼ inch thick slices. Then cut those slices in half to make rectangles. Coat both sides of the tofu in the seasonings. Note: I like to use my little George Foreman grill but you can use a grill pan or just pan fry it as well. If you want to use a regular grill cut the tofu thicker and oil it very well. Spray the grill with oil spray and then place the tofu in. Grill for about 8 to 10 minutes until marks are made, flip and grill for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, until fully cooked and grill marks are made. Once the tofu is done cut each rectangle in half lengthwise to form smaller rectangles.
- Spread garlic powder and vegan mozzarella over the crust. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or according to package/recipe directions.
- Meanwhile, add all ingredients for Caesar salad (minus romaine lettuce) into a jar. Cover with a lid and shake to make dressing. Taste and adjust any seasonings to preference. If you feel the dressing is too thick add an addition 1 tsp to 1 tbsp of water to preference.
- Add the chopped romaine into a bowl. Optional, sprinkle some garlic powder and black pepper over top of the lettuce. Then add the dressing and mix it up.
- Once the pizza is done place the salad on top, along with the tofu strips, and croutons. You can add vegan parmesan and black pepper on top if you like. Cut into 8 slices and enjoy.

Notes
- Serving size will depend on pizza size crust – if using a smaller crust will serve 2, if using larger will serve 4.
- Extra salad can be stored in the refrigerator.

Great photos and it looks incredible. I happen to like pineapple on pizza, so I’ll be willing to try this! I mean…I like both and love salad with my pizza.
