what are vegan gifts?
Before we get into the list I want to talk about giving vegans gifts. What exactly are vegan gifts? If you have a vegan in your life you will most likely know that they don’t eat or use animal products.
While there are SO many incredible brands and products out there dedicated to vegan items there are so many things that aren’t. This list is just a jumping off point and to help give you vegan gift ideas (of course these are great for non-vegans too!)
If none of my ideas inspire or speak to you here are a list of things you should AVOID when buying gifts for the vegan in your life.
do not buy
- Beauty and skincare products that are tested on or contain animal products. Luckily, there are so many amazing brands that are vegan-friendly now.
- Clothing, accessories or shoes that contain leather, wool, cashmere, skins, fur or any other animal products.
- Food that contains dairy, fish, honey, meat, cheese or any other animal products.
what should I do if i am unsure if my gift is good for a vegan?
Don’t stress when buying a gift for a vegan! If you are very unsure if the gift is vegan I think the best answer is to not buy it. However, if it something you are really set on that you feel is special like a pair of shoes I would do one of two things: 1. buy them the present, tell them you aren’t 100% sure if the gift is right, and give them a gift receipt 2. if you don’t care about a surprise being ruined just send it to them and ask.
However, with all my ideas and even more gift guides you can find online I have full faith you will find something appropriate!
the season of giving
Before we get into this list I want to preference it with a few things. The first being any effort made in buying a vegan gift no matter how big or small would be so appreciated. Over the years my family, especially my sister, has gotten me things like socks or mugs with cute sayings, a tofu press, and other cute items. I appreciated those more than anything because it pertains to my interest!
Secondly, one of my favorite gift suggestions is either taking a visit to an animal sanctuary with the vegan in your life or donating to one on their behalf. These animal sanctuaries do amazing rehabilitation work and need all the help financially they can get. So if you really feel stuck on what to get a vegan I have a very strong feeling they would appreciate the donation or visit (plus it is quality time). However, again if you are really unsure and while I know it feels impersonal a gift card to a vegan restaurant or some money for them to buy something they want is always nice as well.
Finally, this gift guide has a VARIETY of vegan gift ideas ranging in things that are more inexpensive to things that are pricier. I cannot emphasize enough that it is just to give ideas. If you decide to buy anything from the links provided it will most likely be an affiliate link which helps to support the blog so thank you very much!

Soy Candle
This may not be something you know but not all candles are vegan friendly! Make sure you get a soy based or coconut based candle. There are many companies out there and you can even find them in Marshall’s or Target!
Candle Warmer
I love candle warmers! Instead of burning the wax it melts it with a light. This is so much safer than having an open flame and it makes your candle last longer. I got mine 2 years ago and I still use it everyday. Pair it with a soy candle for a cute gift set!
Funny/Cute Mug
If you search on Etsy or Amazon for “vegan mugs” so many cute options will come up. If you have a coffee or tea drinker in your life definitely get them a mug with a fun saying. You can always throw in some coffee beans/grinds and a fun seasonal tea too!
Electric Tea Kettle
This is a gift that is great for anyone! I think electric tea kettles are a more luxurious item and a want rather than a need. So, I love to give gifts like this where someone may have been wanting to buy it but decided to save the money instead.
Geometry Dish Towels
After I had some food blogger friends do collaborations with Geometry I was sent towels and I loved them. My favorite part truly is their absolutely adorable and huge array of designs. They have tons of seasonal designs and I think they are just so fun.
Speckled Bowls
I always get asked where I get my bowls from and one of my favorite places is from a company called Sugar Boo. Their stuff is rather inexpensive but it is so cute and great quality.
Pretty Serving Tray
If you have someone in your life who loves to entertain and serve yummy vegan food get them a pretty serving tray. There are so many options out there but I love this one and think it is gorgeous!
Fuzzy Blanket
Who doesn’t love cuddling up with a warm, cozy blanket?! This Bedsure blanket from Amazon has been one of my favorite blankets I have ever had. I have had several of these blankets for 5+ years. They are great quality, so comfortable, and there are so many colors and sizes.
Vegan Bone China
I might sound silly for saying this but did you know bone China has actual bone in it?! While I do a lot of freelance work for Mikasa and I really love their dishes. I think they are so pretty and it is so cool to have a vegan bone China option!
Dried Flowers
Recently, I have been loving dried flowers. While I absolutely love fresh flowers I do think there is something special about dried flowers. Many florists sell beautiful dried flowers and it is great because you can have them forever!
House Plant
At my best friends baby shower 2 years ago I won a snake plant and I was excited. I never win anything and it was a plant! It is so special and I have even been able to keep it alive. I think giving someone a house plant is a beautiful vegan gift idea and something that will make them look at it and smile. Just be sure to keep in mind if they have pets or small children it shouldn’t be anything poisonous if ingested!

Vegetable Chopper
Obviously, as vegans we love our veggies but I think we can all agree chopping them is the worst! I have actually been meaning to buy a veggie chopper for so long but keep being held off because I am thinking “Is it really worth spending the money on?” So, I think as a gift it would be so great because it might be something someone wants but keeps talking themselves out of buying.
Stainless Steel Pans
There are many brands out there that make stainless steel pans. I did work with Quince this year and I really enjoyed their pans so I wanted to share them as an option. The pans are lightweight and cook great. I think anyone who loves to cook should at least have 1 stainless steel pan in their collection!

One thing about me is at dinner time I get lazy. So, the easiest thing to do is freeze a bunch of vegan soups and sauces so when I want something nutritious but also quick I can just reheat it! These silicone containers are so awesome and make it easy to have your favorite things on hand.
Stasher Bags
I think something we all want is to reduce our plastic use and these Stasher bags help out so much. I have a few and while I need to buy more they are pricey. So I know I would be happy to get these as a gift.
Strainer Container
My grandma had these, my mom saw them and loved it so my grandma got them for her. When I saw my mom’s I knew I needed these immediately so I went and ordered them. This strainer container is so awesome for putting in anything that needs to sit in liquid (tofu, leftover beans, olives, pickles) and then you just pick the basket up and there is no mess!

I try really hard at the grocery store to not use any plastic bags for produce. However, there are certain things I do still throw in a bag but if I had these bags I could avoid that all together!
Hestan Cookware
Okay full disclosure I have not used these BUT I saw a food photography friend using them on Instagram and now I want them. They are a beautiful but *expensive* cookware brand. So, I think if you have a vegan in your life who truly loves cooking and entertaining this would be so special.
Tofu Press
If you know a vegan who doesn’t have a tofu press buy them one right now. It is something we all just need. The tofu press helps to squeeze out any water in a block of tofu making the texture better.

A stand mixer is a pricey gift but if you have a vegan who loves baking in your life they will appreciate it so much. Of course, Kitchen Aid is the go-to but there are a lot of other brands out there making them.
Knife
A few years ago my boyfriend decided he wanted to get me some really nice and sharp knives for my cooking and videos. I thought it was the nicest gift and so considerate considering I tend to just be like any knife will work (I know not true). So, anyone who loves to cook will appreciate a knew knife.

While you may not think about it all perfume isn’t vegan-friendly. However, I have found a brand I really love called Brooklyn Ellis. I bought the vanilla milk scent 2 years ago (I still have it and use it at least 4 to 5 times a week) and it smells incredible.

Food Store Gift Card
If you were to ask me the thing I spend most of my money on it is food. I think most people would agree so sometimes the best thing is just to give a gift card for the food store. This can allow them to buy things they need or let them try out fun new vegan products!
