This is easy vegan green goddess dressing takes a few minutes to make and is packed with greens!

the inspiration
One thing I love is sneaky tofu. By that I mean sneaking tofu into recipes that you wouldn’t expect. This vegan green goddess dressing is perfect for that! There are so many herbs in here it totally covers up the tofu you won’t even know it is there.
So, when I was thinking of recipes to sneak some tofu into I knew a salad dressing would be just perfect for this. Everyone should know how to make a few good salad dressings and this vegan green goddess dressing is so flavorful!

the ingredients
- Green Onions: the green onions add brightness to the vegan green goddess dressing.
- Garlic: this will add in flavor and garlic is so good for us! Only use 1 clove as fresh garlic is very flavor-packed and a little spicy.
- Flat Leaf Parsley: the parsley is adding in most of the color and it is a nutritional powerhouse! Filled with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
- Basil: the basil helps to add in some extra flavor and gives it a slight pesto feel.
- Lemon: we will need lemon juice for this recipe and I find it best to use a fresh lemon for this. If you would like to use a bottled lemon juice you can.
- Firm Tofu: for our sneaky tofu we are going to need half a block of firm tofu. When we blend the tofu up it gives you a nice creamy base. Plus, we are getting in some plant protein!
- Salt and Pepper: the fresh herbs of course have tons of flavor but a little salt and pepper is always needed.
- Nutritional Yeast (optional): I always like to add in some nutritional yeast but this is optional and you can leave it out if this doesn’t work for you.

how to make vegan green goddess dressing
To make the vegan green goddess dressing is so easy! All you need to do is add everything into a high powered blender. You will also need to add in some water to help make the dressing.
Then just blend on high for about 30 seconds and it should be thick, creamy, and smooth. From there you can taste it and add in the salt, pepper (and nutritional yeast if using) to taste.
Now, you have made your vegan green goddess dressing! Super simple and so fun to use in so many ways.
GREEN GODDESS DRESSING ORIGIN
Green Goddess dressing, a beloved San Francisco classic, was first created in the 1920s at the Palace Hotel. It is said to have been developed by chef Philip Roemer to pay tribute to actor George Arliss and his play, The Green Goddess.
where can i use this vegan green goddess dressing?
This dressing is great for so many things. From bowls, to salads, to sandwiches/wraps, or even use it as a dip/sauce for veggies! Seriously, it is so delicious. The flavor is so bright and perfect for spring.
I have enjoyed it on a vegan burger, on tofu, and even as a pasta sauce. It is so delicious.

what else can I add to this dressing?
The fun part about a vegan green goddess dressing is you can really customize it. I actually had a lot of ideas in my head for how to make it. So here are some other ingredients you can add in:
- Fresh Mint: this will add in a hint of freshness. I wouldn’t do more than a few leaves.
- Fresh Dill: this will add in an extra flavor and nutrients. Only a few small pieces is necessary to not be overpowering.
- Fresh Chives: you can use this in place of the green onions if you prefer.
- Fresh Cilantro: you can use this in place of the parsley if you prefer.
- Fresh Tarragon: you can use this in place of basil, it has a flavor similar to basil as it has a bit of the anise flavor.
- Fresh Oregano: will add a bit of a peppery flavor, again only a few leaves will be good to not be overpowering.
- Vegan Sour Cream: this can help add extra creaminess and a little tang to the dressing. I would do 1-2 tablespoons.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: this will also add in a bit of tanginess. You can use 1 teaspoon in place of the lemon juice if you prefer.
- Fresh Spinach: you can add in a small handful to help enhance the green color and add in sneaky veggie.
- Fresh Kale: the same as the spinach.
- Soaked Cashews or Almonds: if you can’t have tofu you can always add in some soaked nuts in equal amounts.
- Cannellini Beans: the same as the nuts.
Seriously, there are so many things you can add to this. So, feel free to customize it and add what herbs you like.
