What is Vegan Collagen and Who is Copina Co.?
I will be honest with you I have of course heard about collagen and how it helps with healthy hair, skin, and nails but other than that I didn’t know much. So, collagen is naturally found in our bodies and is the building block for skin, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Most people associate collagen with animal collagen since it can come from cow hides, fish skins, or egg shells. Of course making those products unsuitable for vegans. However, Copina Co. makes a vegan alternative to collagen that helps supports your bodies collagen production. What is in Vegan Collagen?
Now that we know a little bit more about vegan collagen what exactly is in it and how does it work?
- Amla Berry: it’s history is deeply rooted in Ayurveda and has been conventionally used as a tonic both topically and internally as a coolant to manage excess heat and inflammation. It also is used to increase vitality, enhance digestion, stimulate hair growth, and promote longevity. It helps with collagen production, acne healing, skin tone & pigmentation, hair growth, and much more.
- Tremella Mushroom Extract: this is an edible species of fungus that is used in Eastern medicine. It helps to boost skin hydration, boost collagen production and synthesis, improve skin elasticity and anti-inflammatory.
- Bamboo Leaf Extract: bamboo extract is a great source of silica which supports the body’s collagen production and healthy hair, skin, and nails. It helps improve skin health, replenish lost collagen, fights hair loss and thinning.
- Biotin: is part of the vitamin B family! All the Copina Co. blends contain 3,000mcg Biotin per serving. It helps with brittle nails and supports collagen synthesis.
- Gotu Kola Whole Plant Extract: this is an Ayurvedic herb and was picked by Copina Co. herbalists due to its use in treating people with skin ailments and surface wounds. It helps to stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen as well as helping to promote a more even skin tone.
- Hyaluronic Acid: our bodies create hyaluronic acid naturally; however, as we get older we start to make less of it. This is food grade hyaluronic acid which helps with hydrating, wrinkle fighting, and retaining moisture within our bodies.
- KSM-66 Ashwagandha Root Extract Powder: this is specifically in the Copina Co. Cacao Calm Plant-Based Collagen Support Drink Blend + ashwagandha. It is an adaptogen which helps relieve stress and anxiety and it make help minimize the signs of aging.
So, all these ingredients combined together are we what make the amazing Copina Co. vegan collagen. If you want to read and learn even more (because there is a lot of info) check out their website.
What can I make with the Copina Co. Vegan Collagen?
Down below I will be sharing a super easy and delicious recipe for blended chia pudding. It is so good if you have never tried blending your chia seeds it is a game changer! Copina Co. has a lot of different flavors to try: Matcha, Vanilla, Cacao, and Original. So, no matter what flavor you like there is something for everything. You can blend it into coffees, lattes, iced drinks, smoothies and so much more. It is a powder so it works really well to add into pretty much anything you like. I liked using a frother to incorporate it in the non-dairy milk. All the products are vegan, non-GMO, sugar free, and sourced and dosed by third party herbalists and are third party tested.
Vegan Collagen Blended Chia Pudding
Blended chia pudding is so easy to make and you are left with a super creamy and thick amazing vegan pudding. All you need to do is mix together non-dairy milk, Copina Co. Cacao Calm, and maple syrup in a jar. Then you add in your chia seeds and shake it up. Refrigerate for a half hour, add it into a blender and blend until smooth. Top it with anything you like and now you can enjoy. I loved the texture of this because it feels like you are almost eating a chocolate mousse thanks to the cacao in the vegan collagen.

Vegan Collagen Blended Chia Pudding
Ingredients
- 2 rounded out scoops (10g) Cacao Calm Plant-Based Collagen Support Drink Blend
- 1 cup (240ml) non-dairy milk, unsweetened and unflavored
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup
- ¼ cup (36g) chia seeds
- Toppings: things like vegan chocolate chips, pomegranate seeds, coconut flakes
Instructions
- In a large jar add the Copina Co. Cacao Calm, non-dairy milk, and maple syrup. The ensure everything was well mixed together I used a frother to mix it up. If you do not have one you can also do this in a blender.
- Once well incorporated add in the chia seeds. Cover the jar with the lid and shake for about 30 seconds to mix everything up. Check the bottom of the jar if chia seeds are stuck down there use a spoon to move them loose and shake again.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight. The longer it sits the thicker the pudding will get, which may require more blending.
- After thickening pour into a high-speed blender and blend for a minute or until the chia seeds are mostly broken down. This should be mostly smooth and creamy and look like pudding.
- Pour into your favorite jar or glass and add any toppings you prefer. I went with vegan chocolate chips, pomegranate seeds, coconut flakes, and an extra drizzle of maple syrup. Enjoy!
Notes
- This will last in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- You can prep this ahead of time, making it perfect for grabbing and going in the morning.
- Feel free to use any Copina Co. flavor for this recipe.
- I prefer to use unsweetened and unflavored non-dairy milk but you can use any kind you prefer. To make it even more chocolatey you can use a non-dairy chocolate milk.
