this high protein vegan vanilla ninja creami has over 25g plant protein! it is creamy, smooth, and so delicious.

the inspiration
I finally bought a Ninja Creami last year but it took me a while to really develop a recipe I was happy with. After many rounds of trial and error I have found the best way involves two things: tofu and bananas.
The combination creates a creamy and delicious base. This specific recipe is just for vanilla but we will talk about how you can add things in to make other flavors.

the ingredients
- Super Firm Tofu: we will super firm tofu as it has the highest protein content. It also makes a thicker and creamier base for the Ninja Creami. If you want to you can use extra firm tofu.
- Banana: when frozen and blended a banana creates a super thick texture.
- Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder: you can use any vegan vanilla protein powder that you like. I personally prefer a pea protein based one.
- Vanilla Extract: this will add in flavor.
- High Protein Non-Dairy Milk: you can use any high protein non-dairy milk that you like. I prefer Ripple pea protein.
- Stevia in the Raw: to help add in extra sweetness. You can use any sweetener you like.
what is a ninja creami?
Now, if you have never heard of a Ninja Creami you may be wondering what it is. The Ninja Creami is a produt from the brand Ninja. There is a new version now that allows you to create swirled ice cream as well.
It is a countertop ice cream maker that turns frozen bases into smooth desserts in minutes. It uses a spinning blade to spin frozen ingredients into ice cream, sorbet, gelato, or milkshakes. People love it because it lets you control ingredients and textures, from high-protein treats to classic creamy flavors.
However, we will talk about how you can make something similiar to this without a Ninja Creami as well.
how can I make this without a ninja creami?
Now of course bear in mind this recipe was developed to be used in a Ninja Creami. However, if you don’t have one or don’t want to buy one this is what I would do!
You still need a high speed blender. So, you can slice and freeze the banana, place in a separate container. Then, you can blend the tofu and non-dairy milk like normal and freeze in an ice cube mold. Then, take a high speed blender and add the frozen banana with the frozen cubes, and the rest of the ingredients.
You may need to add in some extra non-dairy milk to help the blender out. But this method will yield a somewhat similar result.
how to prep ninja creami?

- Blend the super firm tofu and non-dairy milk together.

- Transfer into the Ninja Creami pint. Then, add in the vanilla protein powder, stevia in the raw, and vanilla extract. Whisk or use a frother to combine.

- Break banana into pieces and add in.

- Freezer for 24 hours. Then, take it out for 30 minutes to sit on the counter before you use it.

- Do 1 spin on light ice cream. It will look like this. Then, scrape the sides and if you want add in vanilla bean paste.

- Do one more spin on light ice cream and it should have a beautiful swirl.
troubleshooting the ninja creami
Some people do tend to have problems when they make their Ninja Creami. The biggest concern tends to be that people cannot make it smooth enough. So, first off we should avoid this by letting it sit and thaw on the counter for a bit before using it. This helps to create a better consistency.
However, something else you can do is run the outside of the Ninja Creami pint under warm water. This will also allow everything to thaw a bit.
Some recipes will say you can add in extra liquid if it is looking powdery. I find that with the base of the bananas and tofu that shouldn’t happen. However, if for some reasons yours does you can add in 1 to 2 extra teaspoons of liquid.
how to make other flavors
If you want to make other flavors here is what you can do.
- Chocolate: add in 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, you can add this in prior to freezing.
- Strawberry: you can either do some freeze dried strawberries or fresh strawberries.
- Cookie dough: keep the same base and add in pieces of cookie dough.
- Cookies & cream: you can add in some chocolate sandwich cookies with the mix-in setting.
- Peanut butter: you can add in a scoop of peanut butter or I like to do PB2. If you do PB2 you can add it in prior to freezing.
- Any fruit flavor: you can always add in any fruit you like for example blueberries, raspberries, or even coconut flakes.
Also, don’t forget to have fun and add your favorite toppings! I personally love little pieces of cookie or cake in mine. I added in some of my protein brownies which was so delicious.

Hi is there something that can be used in place of PP in your breakfast recipes?
Hi, you are always free to leave out protein powder if you prefer. However, I do design recipes a certain way to amp up the protein, I do like to use protein powder.
