these homemade vegan fudgesicles are only 4 ingredients, are so creamy, and they will transport you right back to childhood! get your popsicle molds out and get ready to go.
To be honest I haven’t thought about a fudgesicle in a long time but then I did and then I wanted it. These homemade vegan fudgesicles are super creamy, chocolatey, and the worst part is just waiting for them to freeze. You will need a popsicle mold, I found a really cute set on Amazon that I used for this if you are in need of one!
what are fudgesicles?
Fudgesicles are a popular dessert that were similar to a popsicle. They were creamy because they contained dairy however, they were no sugar added and typically marketed as a “healthier” treat. The best part about a fudgesicle was that it really was creamy, chocolatey, and delicious. So, I was very excited to recreate them in a vegan friendly way!
the ingredients
- Cocowhip: this is the creamy base to our recipe. I love the So Delicious coco whip and it works really well here. When it is softened it always has given me an ice cream type feel so I thought it would be the perfect creamy based.
- Cocoa Powder: we obviously need to make these chocolatey and that will do it!
- Non-Dairy Milk: we will need to thin out the coco whip and mixture to help be able to pour the liquid into the molds. I like Ripple Pea Protein milk.
- Organic Sugar: while the coco whip is already sweetened we are going to add in a bit more extra sugar to really make it delicious.
what is cocowhip?
Cocowhip is a popular frozen dessert by the brand So Delicious. It is similar to a Cool Whip. Yoi can find it in the frozen dessert section usually next to the Cool Whip. While it is coconut based I do not find it to be overtly coconut in flavor. It is sweet, creamy, and delicious. If you can’t find Cocowhip you can take a can of full fat coconut milk, place it in the freezer, remove the solids, and whip with a handmixer or stand mixer. If you do this you will need to add in more sugar to your sweetness preference. You can find Cocowhip in most food stores. There is a light and regular version so whichever type you use will be fine and I find they taste pretty similar.
how to make homemade vegan fudgesicles
The process for making homemade vegan fudgesicles is so easy. First, you will let the Cocowhip soften. Then in a large bowl you will mix together the softened Cocowhip, cocoa powder, sugar, and non-dairy milk. I like to first do this with a spatula and then I go in and whisk it until smooth. You can also pop it all into a blender if you prefer to do that. From there you will just pour it into the popsicle mold and freeze.
freezing tips
The worst part about this recipe is waiting till the homemade vegan fudgesicles are frozen. It will test your patience but good things come to those who wait. So, after your pour it in the mold, place in the freezer for at least 5 hours, but preferably overnight. Then the next day you will remove them from the freezer. Let it sit on your counter for a few minutes and try to wiggle one out. If you are struggling don’t pull just gently run the mold under warm water. Eventually, they should pull out. Then place them back onto a dish and pop them right back in the freezer to harden or you can eat them immediately.

Homemade Vegan Fudgesicles
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 tub (9 ounces/255g) coco whip, softened
- ½ cup (40g) cocoa powder
- 1 cup (240ml) non-dairy milk
- ⅔ cup (67g) organic cane sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. I like to first break up the cocowhip with a spatula and gently mix everything together since the cocoa powder will take a minute to settle in. Then whisk the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth.
- Pour the mixture and divide evenly amongst the popsicle mold, place the top on, and then add in the sticks.
- Place in the freezer and freeze at least 5 hours or until hard.
- When ready to remove let it sit on the counter for a few minutes to soften and making pulling them out easier. You can also run the mold under some warm water.
- Once they are out you can eat them right away. You can also place them on a plate and put them back in the freezer for 1 hour to harden and then transfer into a big bag or container for storage.
