there are a million ways to make a fruit salad so take this recipe as a guideline! this summer fruit salad is filled with all the classic summer fruit and topped with an orange mint dressing that is so good!

I really love a delicious fruit salad. Of course summer is the best time of year to make fruit salads since we have so much amazing fruit. We have beautiful stone fruit like peaches and nectarines. We have amazing watermelon, berries galore! My mouth is drooling just thinking about.

This summer fruit salad recipe is almost more of a guideline so of course just use whatever fruits you like. The orange, mint, and maple syrup are used as a dressing and garnish.

I think when making a summer fruit salad you really want it to be as bright and colorful as possible. Adding in fruits with all of the colors really makes it pop. I try to pick the best looking fruit I can. If you have a local farm or farmers market that is an even better place to get your fruit from. Feel free to switch the fruits up for what looks good and feels better!

orange mint dressing

While you don’t necessarily need a dressing for fruit salad because there is already so much flavor it does make it even better! I like to zest some of the orange right on top. Then, I will add the juice of the whole orange. I tear up a few pieces of mint with my hand and throw those in as well. I also like to add a little maple syrup to just add an extra touch of flavor. However, this is totally optional because of course we have tons of beautiful fruit in there. If you don’t want to use the dressing you can leave it out and enjoy all the flavors of the fruit.

how to enjoy this summer fruit salad

Now of course this is so good enjoyed all on its own. It has tons of flavor, texture, and color. However, if you want to make this even more exciting you can serve it with a scoop of vegan Cocowhip, vegan whipped cream, granola, candied nuts, or vegan yogurt. I love keeping this in the fridge for a day or so to have lots of yummy fresh fruit around.

Is this recipe allergy friendly? Yes! It is nut, soy, and gluten free.
How long will this recipe last? It is really best when fresh but I ate it for 2 days after and it was delicious. I did drain out some of the excess liquid that it was sitting in after the first day.
Can I prepare this ahead of time? Yes. You can prepare all the fruit and then add the dressing prior to serving.
Should I eat this cold? I do prefer fruit salad to be chilled.
