When I first started my blog I stayed away from Halloween recipes. I thought they looked cheesy and I really wanted more of an elevated Halloween style. I feel this Witches Brew Halloween Cocktail is just that. It is sophisticated but still fun, and I love nothing more than smokey rosemary.
The Glass
You have probably seen these glasses floating around the internet. I meant to get them last year but decided too late I wanted to do some Halloween drinks. The cocktail shaker and glass are from Pottery Barn! They are absolutely adorable but of course there are plenty of places that have made replicas and cheaper versions.

Blood Oranges
This recipe calls for blood oranges. You will need the juice and the fruit for garnish. If you can’t find them you can sub in a blood orange soda (will make the drink sweeter and fizzy) or just orange juice. If you want to garnish with the regular orange you can add into a cup with some pomegranate juice to help stain it a bit. But if you can get blood oranges I highly recommend using them.

- How do I make this non-alcoholic? Just leave out the tequila. It will be delicious.
- Can I make this ahead of time? Sure, I wouldn’t do it more than 4 to 5 hours prior to serving.
- Where do you get blood orange juice? I just fresh squeezed one blood orange for this recipe.
- How do you make the smokey rosemary? You just have to carefully light it on fire before serving.

Witches Brew Halloween Cocktail
Ingredients
- ½ cup (120ml) pomegranate juice
- Juice from 1 blood orange (about 2 tablespoons/30ml)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ½ tablespoons agave
- Ice for shaker and drink
- 2 sprigs rosemary for garnish
- 2 cinnamon sticks for garnish
- 2 slices blood orange for garnish
Instructions
- Into a shaker add the pomegranate juice, blood orange juice, tequila, agave, ground cinnamon, and ice. Shake until well combined.
- Pour into two glasses with fresh ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick, sprig of fresh rosemary, and blood orange slice. *If you want to make the rosemary smoke just carefully light it to get a few seconds of smoking effect.
